AI Engineer (LLM Applications)

Build LLM-powered features, internal tools, and RAG-based systems with strong safety, monitoring, and product thinking.

Remote (Sri Lanka time zone preferred)•Contract / Full-time•Mid–Senior

Responsibilities

  • Design and build LLM-powered product features
  • Implement retrieval pipelines and evaluation approaches
  • Work with engineering to integrate AI into production apps
  • Add guardrails, monitoring, and cost/quality controls
  • Communicate trade-offs and recommend pragmatic solutions

Requirements

  • Experience building applied AI systems (LLM, RAG, automation)
  • Strong Python and practical software engineering fundamentals
  • Comfortable working with data pipelines and APIs
  • Ability to explain trade-offs and make pragmatic decisions

Nice to have

  • Experience with vector databases and embeddings
  • Observability for AI systems (quality + cost monitoring)
  • Prompt tooling and evaluation frameworks
